Our Mission
To ensure inclusive participation and leadership of young persons with disabilities in youth and disability rights agendas within the UN system and beyond.
The Challenge
Young persons with disabilities face multiple barriers to active participation and the fulfillment of their human rights, including:
Lack of representation and meaningful participation
Limited access to technology
Restricted access to basic human rights such as education, employment.
Background
GNYPWD was founded following the UN's 2020 Conference of the States Parties (COSP) to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), addressing the need for:
